Hockey legend Abdul Rashid junior passes away

Former captain of Pakistan hockey team and legend player Abdul Rashid junior has passed away.

He was 79 and was suffering from kidney trouble . He was the only player who had secured gold, silver and bronze medals in Junior Olympic games.

He was admitted in a private hospital for treatment since the last several days in Islamabad. The government had not extended any financial assistance to him during his treatment. Olympian Abdul Rashid Junior proved the player who had scored goals more than any other in 1968 and 1972.

He remained top scorer with scoring 96 goals from the side of Pakistan at the time of his retirement.
