Dr Tahir ul Qadri announces retirement from politics
Chairman Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Dr Tahir ul Qadri has announced to leave politics and all political activities.
PAT chief while addressing through a video conference said that he is going to nominate his sons on his place instead he is giving this responsibility to party supreme council.
He said his party played an important role in creating awareness among masses regarding corruption.
He said he saw everything with his eyes after becoming part of the parliament.
Everything happens in the parliament but nothing happens for public welfare, he said.
“Now it is a test for new people who talked about the “Tabdeeli” but where it is?
He said unfortunately there is no place for middle or lower class in our politics, as most of the member’s parliament live only for power.
PAT chairman said that testimonies of Model Town massacre are the result of continued struggle of Pakistan Awami Tehreek.
A dharna was also staged in Islamabad in order to create public awareness.
Struggle for justice to families of model town massacre will continue as it is not politics but part of our faith, he added.
Qadri said that the process of accountability started as the result of our Tehreek.
Currently 9 cases related to model town massacre are running.
“I have to do a lot of work of writing besides facing issues of health therefore I announce retirement from Pakistani politics and all political activities”, Qadri said.
