SC moved for early hearing of PTI candidate petition against EC decision on NA-75 by polls
PTI candidate in NA-75 Daska Ali Amjad Malhi has filed miscellaneous petition in Supreme Court (SC) praying the court to fix his appeal plea for hearing soon against Election Commission (EC) decision in connection with by polls in NA-75.
The miscellaneous petition was filed on Monday taking the plea that appeal plea against EC decision in connection with by polls in NA-75 Daska be fixed for hearing soon.
It may be mentioned that EC had nullified the by polls in NA-75 Daska and ordered for repolling.
PTI candidate Ali Amjid Malhi had challenged EC decision for re-polling in NA -75 in SC on Friday.
PTI candidate has taken the plea in his petition that EC announced its decision in respect of by polls in NA-75 against the rules and regulations. EC decision runs contrary to article 10- A of the constitution. EC decision is against the facts. EC did not take correct review of the available record. The rival candidate has already been defeated in NA-75 by polls. Therefore, the EC decision for re-polling in this constituency stands to no justification. Re-polling in this constituency is tantamount to drifting the electorates of this constituency to law and order situation again.
The petitioner has requested the SC to set aside EC decision on re-polling in NA-75 Daska besides ordering for issuing the result of by polls took place on February 19, 2021.
PML-N candidate Nosheen Iftikhar, EC and others have been made respondents in the petition
