Rs 5 billion allocated for construction of Dadocha dam in RWP

Punjab government has accorded final approval to construct Dadocha dam in district Rawalpindi during the fiscal year 2019-20.
A sum of Rs 5 billion have been earmarked for construction of Dadocha dam in the budget for the fiscal year 2019-20
Punjab government has also approved to initiate new project for supplying water from new water supply scheme to adjoining areas of Rawalpindi from Chahan dam.

Dadocha dam will be constructed in Dadocha village at district Rawalpindi. Under the directives of Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Usman Buzdar, officers of revenue department visited dam site. The work for acquiring land from local population will start from July. The dam will be constructed at the cost of Rs 6 billion.

The laying of water supply pipelines and installation of water treatment plants will be carried out in second phase.
