Pakistan summons French ambassador to record protest against blasphemous caricature, anti Islam narrative of French president


Pakistan on Monday summoned French ambassador Marc Barety in foreign office to record strong protest against blasphemous caricatures of the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) and anti Islam statement by French president. .

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said in a statement issued here Monday that French ambassador would be summoned in foreign office and protest would be recorded against blasphemous caricatures. Pakistan will strictly fight this case in front of the French ambassador.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi has demanded of UN to take immediate notice of anti Islam narrative. 展e will record our protest over anti Islam narrative. No one has any right to hurt sentiments of Muslims.

French President irresponsible statement has added fuel to fire, he said adding seeds of hatred are being sown which will yield dire consequences.

Earlier, Pakistan had condemned systematic Islamophobic campaign under the garb of freedom of expression.

Foreign Office, in a statement issued, said Pakistan condemns in the strongest manner the systematic resurgence of blasphemous acts of republication of caricatures of the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) and desecration of the Holy Quran by certain irresponsible elements in some developed countries.
