Pakistan an important country of South Asia: China

Terming Pakistan as important country of South Asia , China has called on international community to acknowledge the anti terrorism endeavors of Pakistan and lend support to it while its sovereignty and regional integrity should be respected.
This was said by Chinese foreign minister spokesperson Geng Shuang while talking to the media men here.
He held Pakistan is on the forefront of war against terrorism and it openly opposes terrorism. Pakistan has rendered unprecedented sacrifices for regional security and stability.
When asked what is his reaction with regard to media reports on change of its Pakistan policy by US in the backdrop of the prevailing situation in Afghanistan he said “we have seen these reports. Pakistan is an important country of South Asia and peace, stability and economic development in Pakistan is in the interest of region as well as people of Pakistan.
He underlined Pakistan and Afghanistan both are neighbors of China and Beijing has friendly ties with the two countries.
He hoped Pakistan and Afghanistan can bring betterment in mutual relations, connectivity and confidence. The both of the countries should work together for peace and stability in the region and China is ready to play constructive role to achieve this goal.
