On this occasion a special function was held in Karachi on Defence Day, solidarity with Kashmir to pay homage to the martyrs.
Chief of Pakistan Navy Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi in his message on September 8 said this day recalls the spirit, courage and bravery of the naval officers and Jawans. On September 8 Pakistan naval ships attacked the Indian coast and
destroyed Dwarka radar station. Naval Chief further said that Pakistan submarine Ghazi has put under pressure the Indian Naval ships.
Naval Day is being observed to pay homage to the heroes of 1965 Indo-Pak war. In this connection at a function Commander Karachi Vice Admiral Mohammad Amjad Khan Niazi was the chief guest.
According to a spokesman of the Pakistan Navy a large number of heirs of martyrs were invitees. He also said that the martyrs blood made the defence of Pakistan invincible and their sacrifices will be remembered forever. Commander Karachi also paid tributes to the spirit and courage of the heirs of the martyrs.
