ICCI appreciates ITP creating road safety awareness in youth

Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan has said that Creating maximum awareness in youth and citizens about the road safety measures is very important as a WHO’s global status report on road safety showed that over 30,000 lives were lost in Pakistan due to the road accidents and Islamabad Traffic Police has adopted a proactive approach to create road safety awareness in youth.
Talking at the occasion of road safety quiz competition organized by the Islamabad Traffic Police, Yasir said that that due to the good efforts of ITP, road accidents in Islamabad were quite low as compared to other cities, which should be appreciated. He assured that ICCI would fully cooperate with ITP in its endeavours to promote disciplined traffic in the federal capital.
Qazi Jamil ur Rehman, Inspector General of Police Islamabad while addressing concluding ceremony said that the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) was making great efforts to ensure a safe road environment in the city and holding a quiz competition among students was another right step in that direction.
He said that such initiatives would forge close links with students and promote safe driving culture on roads leading to further reduction in road accidents.
